Spurs knock off listless Nuggs

Sorry to you all that this game summary is so late. I had to watch a couple of wins (Lakers and Jazz) to get over the horrible loss that I witnessed against the Spurs.

I was so excited to go to the Spurs game with my girlfriend and show off our new team! Carmelo, NeNe', Camby and especially Boykins, who is not much taller than myself. I can't believe how embarrassed I was watching the game. The first quarter went by quickly and we were definitely getting out hustled. The Spurs shut our running game down by getting back and playing great defense. The Nuggets couldn't buy a rebound, offensively or defensively. And shots just weren't dropping. No big deal right? We have come back before. The second quarter was about the same. It was the Tim Duncan show. He was very exciting to watch, but I kept waiting for someone to step up and match him point for point. At the half, I still had hope.

Buzz (my nickname for the coach) would give them "the talk" and the Nuggets would come out on fire! It was apparent in the first few minutes of the third quarter that I should have had that second beer. No one, not Melo, not Camby, not even Vo could get their game going. As I looked at the scoreboard, it was still all about Duncan! If one of the Nuggets had had a decent night, they could have counteracted Duncan's 27 points, and it would have been a good game.

Oh well, it was just one game. Unfortunately it was a game that I went to. (Did I mention that it was 5 degrees outside walking home from the game....insult to injury!) And when you only have a 10-game pack, and you only get to take your girlfriend once, it was disappointing to say the least.

Thanks to my wonderful husband for giving up his ticket, and for educating me every game on how tall each player is and where they went to school!

Love you!
