Camby dominates, preserves win...With the Nuggets about to head out on the road - a win against the Suns was crucial to keep recent momentum going. Unfortunately, the Suns had their own momentum going, by way of a 4 game winning streak. Marcus Camby made sure the Nuggets ended the Suns winning ways. With a season high 22 points, 18 boards, and 6 blocks, Camby easily deserves player of the game honors. It still took a magical moment at the end of the game to preserve a second half comeback and finish off the Suns. Clinging to a three point lead, Andre Miller held the ball to milk as much clock as possible. With the shot clock below 5, he drove to the hoop but had his layup attempt blocked by Phoenix's Jake Voskuhl. Camby hustled to pick up the loose ball near the right-wing three point line, and with great shot-clock awareness he spun and shot in one quick motion from long range. Swish. Nuggets winning streak reaches 3 games after Phoenix misses its final shot. On another play, earlier in the game, Camby led a break with Nene on the wing. As Camby neared the top of the key, he spun the ball behind his back, juking Suns guard Howard Eisley, then fed Nene with a perfect no-look pass for the easy lay-up. Nuggets big men leading the break - beautiful. Has anyone noticed how often Camby takes the first shot of the game for the Nuggets this year? He usually makes it too. :) Andre Miller deserves further mention. His big games have become routine - dishing to his teammates and adding scoring when needed. He picked up the slack for Voshon Lenard, who disappeared for this game, going 0-5 and only scoring 3 pts on free throws. Rodney White had his fourth straight game with 10+ points, contributing 17 on 5-7 shootting (3-3 from 3 pt land) for the second unit. How's this for instant offens? Rodney scored 11 points in 1:33 of gametime. Skita was rewarded with a few minutes late in the 4th quarter, after a solid effort late in the game against Utah.
