Web: Rare win in Atlanta (ESPN.com) Next up: Denver at Charlotte Bobcats, Wed @ 5:00MT Melo ends 16 years of Nuggets miseryApparently, 16 years of straight losses mean absolutely nothing to the Nuggets. With a game that went undecided till the last second, the Nuggets were able to produce a 100-96 win, their second of their 5-game road trip. It appeared the Nuggets were destined for doom as they played horrible defense and couldn’t seem to find any offense. Despite bench efforts from both DJ and Elson, the Nuggets ended the first half with a 59-47 deficit. The Nuggets came out with a spark after halftime, but, unfortunately, it wasn’t enough; the Hawks gained their biggest lead of 15 in the third. Luckily for the Nuggets, with their starters on the floor, they were able to create a tie game late in the 4th. But it seemed that the game would go into overtime after Walker missed his jumpshot with 6 seconds left in the game. With a 20-second timeout, George Karl had just enough time to diagram a game-winning shot for who other than Carmelo Anthony. With .9 seconds left of regulation, Melo put up a nail-biting shot and scored his last two points of the game, totaling 22. The game ended with a score of 100-96, thanks to 2 made freethrows from Boykins. All I’ve got to say is: bring it on, Bobcats.
