Clyde Drexler joined the Nuggets bench today as an assistant to interim head coach, Mike Evans. Clyde had originally come to Denver back in September as a special assistant to new GM Kiki Vandeweghe. Clyde joins Kim Hughes, John MacLeod and Louie Dampier as Nuggets coaching assistants.
I am interested to see what kind of an impact Clyde will have on the Nuggets. I think putting him on the bench is a good move, as a player of his reputation can help some of the younger players better understand the effort it takes to excel in the NBA. Clyde has aspirations of coaching in the NBA someday, and being an assistant first will help him increase his chances.
