  1. Also word is the Nuggies might have new unis next year. Any truth? could someone describe them to me if you've seen one? I'm hoping they incorporate the rainbow skyline of the 80s - maybe instead of a rainbow they could do various shades of blue mixed with gold or something....

  3. http://www.theknicksblog.com/2009/06/04/draft-notes/ I came across this little nugget of information. According to this knicks blog (at the bottom of their page) it says the Nuggets are trying to get into the lottery for the draft! They want to get a backup point guard to groom under Billups. Have any of you Coloradians heard any of this information? The problem is I don't think the Nuggets have anyone they could trade to move up that high. They would essentially have to trade a starter for a backup and I think that might be a bad idea. asuming that melo and chaunce chaunce are untouchables, that would leave nene, kmart and JR as the only asets under contract. I wouldn't want to give up any of them...

  5. Lately I've been thinking that if the Nuggets had just played a total of 5 minutes of better basketball in the conference finals they could be up 3-1 on the magic right now instead of the lakers. I hate the lakers.

  6. by NugNugz on June 13th, 2009 a 8:54am
  7. With that being said - AC did cost the Nuggets game one (partially; they did miss a boat load of FTs). I think it's important to have a solid backup and bring in a young PG who can play some minutes too. But to have that veteran backup is key or else we'll be like the Suns - when Nash goes out of the game, their offense goes to heaven.

  8. by NugNugz on June 2nd, 2009 a 12:38pm
  9. I disagree with you A-Train. A.C. is a solid backup and furthermore, he's cheap as all get out. He hit some big shots in the playoffs. I wouldn't mind getting rid of LK if it was a sign and trade but I'd hate to just let him walk. Maybe they could trade him for a defensive rebounding center...Marcin Gortat would be REAL nice but I think he's fixin to get paid.

  10. by NugNugz on June 1st, 2009 a 9:30pm
  11. Great year Nugs! We will need Birdman back next year, a defensive, smart backup pg, and a defensive, rebounding center next year. CUT A.C. and don't resign LK.

  12. by A-TRAIN on June 1st, 2009 a 2:54pm
  13. That was a great run. You guys proved a lot these playoffs making it so far. Great post today about the Nuggets. http://therookiecontract.com/

  15. I'm proud of the Nuggies. I don't think any of us believed at the start of the season (or even when they acquired Billups) that they were going to the Conference Finals. As a fan of the Nuggies since 92-93, this was a real special treat for me. We've sat through some BAD years. They'll be back next year better than ever (please re-sign Birdman!). Now it's time to think about the draft - we have a second round pick and I would like us to use it on French point guard Rodrigue Beaubois. He is on youtube for musings. He's 6'3 with a wingspan of 6'10 - plays rajon rondo like defense and has a barbosa like offensive skill set. With JR starting next year, he could offer a nice punch off the bench and with Chauncey mentoring him - that could be good too.

  17. Im not blaming anyone for the loss because the whole game we looked like we didn't want it. It was a great season and I look forward to having this team back next year so we can kick the LAKERS butts right out of the playoffs and send Kobe back to LA crying foul

  18. by Brian on May 30th, 2009 a 1:46am
  19. Hey Nuggets fans: not sure what happenened to your team tonight. What was that? You got whooped, but for most of the series, you were better and you'll be there next year. I don't think you need to make many changes. See you next season. I hope the fishin' is good.

  21. GEORGE KARL IS THE WORSE COACH EVER. COME ON NOW WE DONT HAVE TO BE A COACH TO SEE THAT CARTER AND SMITH DOES NOT HAVE ANY EFFECT ON KOBE WHATSOEVER. IM NOT SAYING PUT CARMELO ON KOBE FOR ENTIRE GAME. BUT YOU SHOULD HAVE GIVEN KOBE A DIFFERENT LOOK ON DEFENSE. OUT A TALLER PLAYER IN FRONT OF HIM. CARMELO DID A PRETTY GOOD JOB WHEN HE WAS GUARDING KOBE. WHY THE HELL WOULD YOU PUT CARTER ON THE COURT WHEN KLEZA A THREE POINT SHOOTER IS SITTING ON THE BENCH. WHY THE HELL WOULD YOU PUT CARMELO ON THE BENCH IN THE 4TH QUARTER. IT SEEMS LIKE YOU NEVER TRY TO MAKE ANY ADJUSTMENT AS THE SERIES WENT ON. THEREFORE KARL GEORGE SHOULD BE FIRED. GEORGE KARL IS THE WORSE COACH IN THE NBA. US NUGGETS FANS CANT STAND GEORGE KARL. PLEASE GIVE US A COACH WHO ACTUALLY CARES ABOUT COACHING. THANK YOU.

  22. by LINDA on May 29th, 2009 a 11:28pm
  23. George Karl is the worse coach ever. Why does he consistantly put a short guy on kobe. how about putting carmelo or kleza or martin on kobe. George Karl is the main reason why the nuggets lost the series. Why does he keep putting Carmelo on the bench in the fourth quarter. I can stand George Karl. he is garbage. he should be fired.

  35. The Nuggets are the best team in the West right now. They are smart in Intelligent, in allways have a Positive Attitude in thats whats make them a good team. In i want to give a Shot out to Kenyon Martin and Carmelo Anthony, Keep up the good work.

  36. by Tasha washington on May 29th, 2009 a 11:06am
  37. I thought the Nuggets weren't getting a lot of calls...it seems like Melo did a drive to the basket and would get a call and then do the same drive a few plays later with the same contact and not get the call. Anyway, Nuggies will take care of business in Denver on Friday (Melo's b-day) so I'm not concerned. The Nuggets just have to win one more in LA so I guess since it wasn't last night, it will be Sunday.

  38. by NugNugz on May 28th, 2009 a 6:54am
  39. Let's Go Nuggets! Beat LA in LA and bring the 3rd series close-out game home to Denver of these playoffs! Agree with NugzNugz - attack the rim again like in game 4 and grab the boards and we'll be up 3-2! GO NUGGETS!

  40. by Alan Switzer on May 27th, 2009 a 10:57am
  41. Chris Anderson will eventually be the sixth man of the year in the NBA. I coached him on 8th grade B-team at Calhoun Middle school; (Denton, TX.) and never saw all of his talent. However, I did see "determination". This "detemination" is what took him from B-team at Calhoun to only playing at JUCO (Blinn College)to New Orleans to the eventual NBA Champs (Nuggets). Keep up the good work Chris. You deserve all the recognition.

  42. by Charlie Haynes on May 27th, 2009 a 10:10am

  47. George Karl PLEASE PUT CARMELO ON KOBE AT THE END OF THE GAME. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE. THERE IS NO WAY IN HELL NUGGETS WILL WIN HAVING A SHORT GUY GUARDING KOBE AT THE END OF THE GAME. I'M TIRED OF WATCHING GERGE KARL SCREWING THE NUGGETS OVER. PUT A TALLER PLAYER IN FRONT OF KOBE THAT CAN ALTER HIS SHOTS SOMEWHAT. DAMN GEORGE KARL.

  48. by ball on May 24th, 2009 a 7:00pm
  49. GEORGE KARL IS THE REASON WHY NUGGETS ARE LOSING TO THE LAKERS. IF GEORGE PUT CARMELO ON KOBE AT THE LAST 4 MINUTES OF EVERY QUARTER THAT WILL SLOW KOBE DOWN SOMEWHAT. BUT PUTTING A SHORTER GUY ON KOBE IS A GIFT TO KOBE. BAD COACHING GEORGE KARL. HOW BOUT PUTTING CARMELO ON KOBE AT THE END OF THE GAME GEORGE??? THATS HOW WE WON GAME 2.

  74. by brown nugget on May 19th, 2009 a 12:09am
  75. Man, How it has come together! A big pound to the entire team, its funny how everyone's (Barkley) opinions have changed. The Nuggets are deadly right now. Keep doing what you do and we'll see a championship. Play HARD. And then play HARDER!

  76. by Jeremy W. on May 16th, 2009 a 8:56pm
  77. The Nuggets aren't bullies - the rest of the NBA is just soft. This is how basketball has been played over the last 50 years . get over the fact that your team is a bunch of softies. and if you want to talk about role models, look at Josh Howard.

  78. by NugNugz on May 16th, 2009 a 8:30pm
  79. To: A BasketBall Fan who doesn't like bullies, No one likes their team to be beat, but that doesn't automatically make them a bully, does it? The Mavs are a very good team, and they aren't nearly as athletic as the Nuggets, which is one of the main reasons they lost. If you look at the past couple of games, the Mavs had more flagrants and techs as they "tried" to match the Nuggets new physical style of play, without much success. Insulting Kenyon Martin for the way he speaks is just rude and ignorant... he is a national spokesman for stuttering to try to bring awareness for people that don't understand! http://www.stutteringhelp.org/Default.aspx?tabid=128

  80. by NuggetsHoops Admin on May 14th, 2009 a 4:16pm
  81. I think the Denver Nuggets need to come to the realization that the only way they know how to play is through trash comments. I don't know if the Mavericks are going to take out the trash, but someone will and I will be watching! If I take my elbow and throw other players' on a team, I am sure I could win a game too. It's too bad players like Martin are rolemodels for today's youth, he can't even speak correctly

  82. by A BasketBall Fan who doesn't like bullies on May 13th, 2009 a 6:01pm
  83. Carmelo is the g.o.a.t! Chauncey may be Mr. Big Shot but Melo is Mr. Clutch. There's no one I'd rather give the ball to for a game winner.

  84. by NugNugz on May 13th, 2009 a 11:05am
  85. Man, Nuggets are gonna run the Mavs out of the Pepsi Center tonight

  87. Tonight could go down as one of the greatest and most memorable nights in Denver Nuggets team history. Fans at the Pepsi Center - let's be as LOUD as possible, and show the NBA world we can be cl*ssy at the same time. Here we go Nugg-ets!

  88. by Alan Switzer on May 13th, 2009 a 10:40am
  89. As for Billy Jones, I like this site and no one forces you to come here. If you want to talk Chivas go post on a soccer site...if you want to talk about how the Lakers are struggling to beat a totally undermanned Houston team, we can discuss that here. I wonder what easy work the Nuggets will make of the same undermanned Rockets team in the Western Conference Finals?

  90. by NugNugz on May 12th, 2009 a 5:18pm
  91. I would've been pleasantly surprised if the Nuggets had won yesterday; it's hard to win both games on the road. However, I do expect them to win tomorrow and perhaps you are right about the temper flare but it is ridiculous that Carmelo is sitting there getting held by Wright long after the play is dead and Carmelo is the one that gets the technical because Wright won't let go. I know it's a biased opinion but I thought it was poor officiating there.

  92. by NugNugz on May 12th, 2009 a 5:16pm
  93. Be the better city: The Nuggets are a better team we know that and yesturday we let are tempers flare and it cost us the game. We need to cheer our hearts out tommorow but that doesnt mean we should repeat what the actions set by Dallas. If we want to really stick it to Dallas we should prove that we are not only better at basketball but better at being fans. So no yelling profanities or bad gestures and no threats. Just scream till you cant scream any more.
